The Clean Leaf (“we”, “us”) provides residential and commercial cleaning services in the Greater Toronto Area, York Region and Simcoe County, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through thecleanleaf.ca and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you fill in a quote or contact form, call, text or email us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the service you need, the size of your property and any details you choose to add. When you book a clean, we also collect your service address and any access instructions.
- How you found us. When you submit a form, our website adds the page you first landed on, the website that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you used (for example UTM tags or ad click IDs). Your browser keeps these details until you submit a form.
- Website usage. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as the pages viewed, the type of device, the approximate location and clicks on our phone number and email address. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare your quote.
- To schedule, provide and invoice our cleaning services.
- To contact you about your booking.
- To understand which of our marketing brings us customers and to improve our website.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
How we store and share it
Form submissions are sent to our business email, and a copy is kept in our website’s private admin area so that no enquiry is lost. We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our website and business, such as our web host, our email provider and Google (Analytics, Maps and Fonts). Our website also shows Google reviews through a third-party reviews widget. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how our website is used. Our website also saves the “how you found us” details described above in your browser’s local storage. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, and the website will still work. You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and customer information only as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. After that, we delete it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as password-protected accounts and limiting access to the people who need it to serve you. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it by law. To make a request, email contact@thecleanleaf.ca or call (249) 468-7977. We will respond within 30 days.

Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number through the chat on our website, you agree to receive text messages from The Clean Leaf about your enquiry, quotes, bookings, appointment reminders and service updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. You can also contact us at (249) 468-7977 or contact@thecleanleaf.ca.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We only share it with the service providers that help us send the messages (for example, our messaging platform), and never for their own marketing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
